We Will Not Sit Down And Be Quiet
We Will Wot Sit Down and Be Quiet was a project undertaken by a collective called DoubleTake Studios based in Tallaght, the project set out to raise awareness of the conditions and difficulties for those with disabilities living in group homes, myself and my colleague Conor Keegan were lucky enough to be asked to photograph the advocates from the group for display in the Pearse Museum at the launch of the project and to travel with the project on display in various theatres and galleries across the country.
The images we took were accompanied by a quote and a name from each advocate and were printed on aluminium sheets and erected around the walkways of the Pearse Museum grounds, along with smaller framed prints inside the gallery to accompany the video piece with is available to view here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paY1VgnaNpc
